Athena Rising Podcast: Real Women’s Stories of Triumph and Empowerment
Athena Rising is the brainchild of Vanessa Johannes and Marissel Descalzo, two lawyers and friends based in Miami, Florida. Vanessa and Marissel met during a months-long trial and instantly became great friends. Vanessa had long wanted to start a podcast geared towards sharing women’s stories of triumph and hardship in the legal and corporate setting. Marissel wanted women to finally come together and empower each other. Together, they formed Athena Rising, a podcast designed to tell “real” and authentic stories from, by and for women, so that we can all be inspired, grow, and, frankly, feel less alone in a profession and world that is often overwhelming.
