Jon Sale is a preeminent white-collar criminal defense attorney and partner at Nelson and Mullins. Jon is known as the “godfather of the criminal defense bar” and is extremely dedicated to the legal community in the Southern District of Florida. He serves on multiple committees that have a hand in selecting federal court judges and magistrate judges. Jon shares his journey to the law, work as a prosecutor (including his work on the Watergate investigation), and numerous “war stories” from notorious trials and tribulations. One of those war stories was his prosecution of Feodor Fedorenko, a naturalized U.S. citizen who had lied about his past as a guard at a Nazi death camp on his visa and citizenship applications. Jon, lead attorney for the United States, lead the case to denaturalize Fedorenko.
