
Eugene Pettis is the Co-Founder and Senior Partner of Haliczer, Pettis, and Schwamm. He handles complex cases, with his primary focus being the representation of plaintiffs in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, and commercial litigation.
Eugene is a South Florida Legend. Eugene was the first African American President of the Florida Bar, where he provided his leadership and guidance to over 100,000 Florida attorneys. As President, Eugene spearheaded the William Reece Smith Leadership Academy, a multi-session training program designed to help a diverse and inclusive group of lawyers become better leaders.
Eugene shares his journey from being the youngest of seven children in a poor community in Broward County to being a nationally recognized litigator and sought after speaker. Eugene shares his story and how he rose to the top. Eugene discusses how he is doing his part to help others succeed and how we can all do a little more. He gives parenting advice for those of us with children that have it all. He even tells us about a recent trip to Africa and how it changed his perspective on certain things.
